October 6, 2025 – From Agadir to Tan-Tan
Good day for October 6, 2025. We’re aiming to leave Agadir, and we started the day with a visit to a beautiful bakery that focused on really nice pastries and coffee. That’s actually quite unusual here — most places that serve coffee don’t always serve tea, and even fewer offer pastries. So this was a pastry-first kind of place that also served coffee, and it made for a perfect start to the morning.
Breakfast and the Road Ahead
After breakfast, we were all set to make our way toward Tan-Tan, though we didn’t yet know exactly where we’d end up for the night. The first target was a place called Tiznit. The most amazing thing so far has been the roads — almost all freshly paved with new tar and four lanes wide, except for a few short stretches here and there. It makes for very easy traveling. There are no tolls, just smooth driving all the way.
Along the Coast to Tiznit

Beside the road, there isn’t much to see — mostly rocky terrain and a few sandy patches in between. We followed the coastline most of the way, and our first stop was Tiznit before continuing on toward Tan-Tan.
Arrival at Tan-Tan Plage
It turns out that Tan-Tan has a place right on the coast called Tan-Tan Beach, or Tan-Tan Plage. We arrived there around dinner time and found a place to stay — the Sahara Beach Hotel, or Hotel Sahara Beach. It’s a relatively new hotel that didn’t yet have an operating elevator, but it sits right on the beach, has a great feel, and a nice restaurant downstairs.
Reflections on the Day
We’re not going too cheap here altogether, but prices are very reasonable, so it’s easy to splurge a little. That’s really it for today — a day full of driving, quiet roads, and coastal scenery. Even though the landscape isn’t dramatic, it has its own calm beauty. We’ll catch more at another time. Thank you so much.
