Good Day, January 21st
Leaving Zunbey and having had breakfast at the hotel, that was quite all right. They then came up with some interesting fruits and I’ll try them out.
The Road to Lobito
So then the road goes close to the coast but you can’t always see the water for sure. Most of it goes inland as well quite a bit. The first place that I would be passing through would be Lobito. And I’d learn more about Lobito later about the Lobito Corridor. And that has to do with it becoming more of a harbor with more capabilities. But more about that at another time.
The Flow Hotel in Benguela
The Benguela was the target actually just before that, because I had made the reservation at the Flow Hotel, which has to do, the hotel was around 2010 that it was built for some event, and then there’s a stadium a little distance across the street. And after that it had not been used for 10 years or so. So now it’s back in business. And maybe the Lobito Corridor may have something to do with that.
It’s not an African hotel at all. It’s a modern hotel. But since I needed good internet access, that was the choice I made. And it wasn’t as expensive as I would have paid in Las Vegas, so to speak. $50 a night and then including breakfast. It’s fairly doable.
Scenery and Traffic
Anyway, the scenery was interesting. It’s getting drier and drier. And traffic was also fascinating because there was an orange truck that had another orange truck next to it because they were overloading or taking the load from one truck to the other. And only when driving by I realized what had happened. A regular car, a white car, had ran into the first orange truck in the back.
And so that was, they generally take some time to sort things out, so then the load has to be transferred in the whole process. You just drive by and there’s not even time to take a picture generally, but accidents just happen left and right. And it’s so important to stick with driving during the day.
Until Tomorrow
Well thanks for coming along. We’ll see you tomorrow.
