Easy Days in L'Alfàs del Pi– A Pause Before the Final Stretch

Good day — September 30th

Today I’m going to be just staying in L’Alfàs del Pi and used the day first to get some more diesel, which we got lucky and found some diesel at €1.30 per liter, which normally is around €1.50. Everybody else had it around €1.50–€1.55. All these little things, they have a way of adding up.

Shopping and small wins

Then we picked up some other things at a Chinese store where they have everything under the sun. It’s nice to have someone around that has been there for a long time and knows where to go. All these little details make life easier on the road.

Who’s holding the fort

Mariana is going to be holding the fort down while Johan gets to go and enjoy the trip. She’s going to be putting in some painting work — so she has no one to be in the way, I guess.

Walking around town

We were able to walk around town a bit and enjoy what the little town has to offer. It basically has really good prices — that’s one reason to stay here. They really enjoy the community that has materialized in the complex where they bought their apartment.

Expat life — escaping the Norwegian weather

Many of the residents spend a few months out of the year away from the Norwegian dreary weather when that happens. There’s not that much of a summertime back home, so you can pick and choose when you come down here.

Local activities

We even played a game with metal balls — an interesting game and one of the activities going on here. Other than that, it’s not too far away from the beach.
